This qualification reflects the role of support workers who complete specialised tasks and functions in aged services; either in residential, home or community based environments. Workers will take responsibility for their own outputs within defined organisation guidelines and maintain quality service delivery through the development, facilitation and review of individualised service planning and delivery.
Workers may be required to demonstrate leadership and have limited responsibility for the organisation and the quantity and quality of outputs of others within limited parameters.
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency. As this course is designed for existing workers only, learners will need to meet this requirement through their current work role. This may include providing evidence of employment, workplace observations, and other work based tasks.
This course will be run over 35 weeks for existing workers with a blend of RPL, face-face, work-based training and assessment, and self-paced activities.
This course will be run as follows:
Manual Handling
Personal Care
Medication
All learners will be asked to participate in a Pre-Training Review and complete a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) Review. This is to ensure we meet your needs as a learner and you are suitable for the course.
