Enteral Feeding Support (PEG) - with Medication

Overview

Our Enteral Feeding Support (PEG) with Medication workshop equips support workers and carers with the essential skills to safely support individuals with Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (PEG) feeding. Participants will learn to care for the stoma site, identify signs of infection, administer medication via the tube, manage equipment issues, and practise using enteral feeding tubes and a Kangaroo pump. Aligned with the NDIS Practice Standards, this training supports safe, competent care under the High Intensity Daily Personal Activities Module and helps providers meet their obligations under the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework.

This course will discuss the care and maintenance of a Enteral Tube, Enteral feeding as well as medication administration methods such as machines. Participants will gain greater knowledge of Enteral feeding support, medication administration, common causes of infection, Enteral feeding requirements and safe and effective care. They will be confident and competent in the use of PEG machines and client care.

Recommended Prerequisite Workshops

While not mandatory, we recommend that students either hold a Medication Assistance for Care Workers certificate or have a solid understanding of medication administration
